Not sure where this bowl was styled from, but it has Asian hints about it.

5 point brown glazed raised foot bowl with milk white crackled enameling around the body.

Looks modern but the style is intriguing.

That foot is likely a contemporary Japanese piece.

Looks modern. This bowl, can be "anything" & made "anywhere" - I guess, without similar example, without any sort makers markings, it's pretty much impossible to understand where this bowl came from.

It could be a western studio piece.  There is a recipe for a glaze like this online.  I think it's called a beaded glaze or a bead glaze.  It might be worth looking into.

Sorry it is beads glaze https://glazy.org/recipes/3449

@julia thank you! That helps define the texture enamel much more accurately!

Looks like a modern interpretation of a Monteith style bowl, for rinsing wine glases, cheers. How big is it?

Ahh cool! The style makes sense a bit with that direction. I'll have to dig around this next. Thanks for the help @sharonp !

It's rim diameter is about 8.6 inches.

Depth is 2.5 inches.

Foot rim diameter is 3.5 inches.

I don't think it's Chinese or Japanese but without a makers mark we will never know for sure either way.

Possibly styled on a modern interpretation of a Lotus leaf.

@imperialfinegems it's history is a mystery for sure!

Kinda looks like one considering the colors and simplistic design, you're right.

@sharonp on review, it does and doesn't fit the bill a bit. If the intention was there for it, I think the artist didn't quite capture the details well enough to fit in true fashion representation. The body and style however fits more into the true description.

It has 5 points for the bottle, which usually  is standard to 8, lowest 6 seen so far. Maybe representing more intimate than party.

The curve of each divot on the rim is really shallow.

Depth and rim diameter is really shallow/small to be considered a true Monteith as well.

Would make a great fashionable way to keep bottled drinks chilled though, not gonna lie. Wine bottle is pushing it 😂

Appreciate the direction again! I have nothing better to consider it as, but its a better representation of what to consider it. It's neat how much influence is tied back to China's history, even having tiebacks to the style and decoration to China's art at the time. Maybe this is why it has a call to east Asia in my head, but who truly knows.

I came across a similar piece on ebay last night, marked Sèvres. I don't think yours is by them and it is a different shape, but it is a similar style. Therefore, it may help you date it and is probably an additional support for this being from the west. Having said that, I have seen similar glazes on Japanese pieces so that could be the inspiration for the glaze style.
