As time goes along this forum with develop it's own personality and I'm sure it will be a welcoming and supportive one. I see you are selling some nice pieces again, good luck with your sale.

Hello Joe,
Thanks for the kind words. As I mentioned in another post, doing a FORUM was something we've wanted to do for some time but technical limitations made it rather difficult. Hopefully, folks will find it useful and will share things they've bought, seen on the market, have general discussions and post objects they themselves are selling that are authentic.
We'll see how it goes and make adjustments to accommodate our users.
THanks! Peter
Peter

Peter
Thank you, Richard
There are other Forum and Discussion boards out there, however many do not permit any form of discussion about buying and selling objects. BidAmount has always been focussed on sharing information about not only objects but whats on the market and where. This seemed like a logical extension, hopefully, to suit many purposes and visitors.
Best, Peter

Let me add my thank you to Peter and his crew for both the news letter and now a this public forum.
As a novice in the world of Asian Porcelains I appreciate your efforts Peter in educating folks like me in what to look out for. And giving of the most valuable of objects, your time.
Dear Mr. Combs,
I have been watching your weekly videos for a few months now, and have learned so much.
You are doing an incredible job educating collectors of Asian Art and preventing fraud.
Thank you for the tremendous contribution you are making to us all.

When I first got interested many (more than I want to think about) years ago in the "Pre-Web" era I did have the good fortune to make friends with some very knowledgeable people: dealers, collector, and curators. Most of them are gone now, but all of them believed in sharing what they knew and I was thrilled to learn from them.
This site I guess is just my little way of doing the same with all who are interested.

Hi Peter,
This is a fantastic idea, thanks for setting it up. I would also like to say how much I enjoy your weekly videos. I have been watching for some time and really missed seeing you talking to us in the last one. I have obviously got very used to having coffee with you every week. 🙂
Thanks for all you are doing.
Best wishes,
Julia
Hello Julia,

I just noticed this morning the Subscriber base on You-Tube has gone over 1600 people and over 20,000 views every 28 days. It surprised me.
Thanks again, Peter

Dear mr Combs and team,
Thank you for making this forum possible.
I very much enjoy your very informative videos on asian art and your weekly selection of interesting items which you have seen on Ebay.
Kind Regards,
Charlie
Hi Charlie,
Thank you and thanks for joining us here. It's pretty great to have a job that's hardly a job..for almost 4 decades. We really enjoy all of it still. Post things, chat and have fun here..

Peter, I think your idea with the forum fills a gap I was looking for. Together with others it is a great source of knowledge and I have missed the economic valuation of things discussed sometimes.
Thanks, Mats
Thank you, Mats,
I thought doing it a bit differently might be helpful for folks to get a better or broader view of the collecting world. Having a grasp of the economics can be very helpful for everyone.
We'll see where it goes from here and we will adjust accordingly. I do want everyone to let me know what they would like added, or things which can be done to improve things.
Best, Peter
