Hey Folks,

Tonight a friend asked me to play "Black magic woman" (her favorite song) as Feetwood mac did in '69, before Stevie Nics joined them... his mother( she loved us like no one else could) just passed, It was her wake,,and I felt I needed to,  so I did, and as  I said, and I meant it it , it was the last time I touch a guitar.....  The thought drives me to a terrible place... But I now sit here going through books, looking for a Ming  bowl like one I have, and I wonder what do you fine folks listen to while diving deep into the rabbit hole?

What song inspires you?

Cheers,

Jeremy

P.S. Forgive the type-os Ive had enough whiskey to kill a rhino....

I listened to "Little Red Corvette" by Prince after I heard that a friend had died from college.  He used to play it a lot at parties.

@jbeer2121 if you want some Prince I would recommend listening to the version he, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynn and others did of While My Guitar Gently Weeps during their rock and roll hall of fame induction party. Prince plays one of the greatest guitar solos ever in that performance and of course the other guys sound great too. John

@jbeer2121 Don't stop playing, I gave my piano and music away because of arthritis in my hands, it was an arrangement of Grand Canyon Suite by Copeland not Kern. Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac, Head Games by Foreignor and All Along the Watchtower by Dylan and also Hendrix was my play list for driving to exams. Another ritual was to call the radio station and dedicate Head Games to all professors, but yes researching ceramics has been a boon to feeling better, which brings us to Simon and Garfunkel, who I saw in concert in summet of 68, Bridge Over Troubled Water tour.

I'm a Classical and jazz fan.  Bach Brandenburg Concerti on one hand and Charlie Mingus on the other.

@sharonp Sharon, check this out - I just got it a couple weeks back from a dealer friend who said he got it years ago from a friend who had dated Steve Miller! He has a whole bunch of other ones from various bands from back then but I only bought this one. I looked up the schedule online and some of the dates left blank were filled in with some other bigtime bands, like the Who, Grateful Dead, etc. It was quite a summer you guys had back then! This one was for  the summer of1968.  John

When I lived in Brussels in the 1970s My family took a trip to all the churches where JS Bach worked.  Most were in the East German side  SO that was quite an experience.  Everything was cheap but poorly made.  But, i bought a copy of the score of all the Brandenburg Concerti for about $1.50 in marks.  Soli Deo Gloria!
