In my opinion mid-Republic, ca. 1930s.

The first one title is: serving tea to please the heart. The 2nd one tile is: meditating like a Buddha. The rest twonlines are the same. The last line is: Made by Wang Qi in Zhu Shan (Pearl Mount).
The middle line indicates the date they were made. The first two indicate the year of Wu Chen, that would be year 1928 in the republic period, and next two refer to the day of Mid Fall Festival (moon festival) which was September 28th. The last 6 are Xi Chang Tao Mi Dao Ren (西昌匋迷道人），a nickname Wang Qi call himself.
However due to the high price of the Zhu Shan Eight Friends items, the market is flooded with fakes now. People estimate that only 1% is real. Most of them are in museums or in private collection.

Huge thanks for your replies.A little background info:placques were recently purchased by me on ebay from a seller in the UK who described them thus"Victorian Japanese ceramic panels".Seller was not an oriental specialist and certainly didn't set out to deceive(or get an overinflated price)
Not sure what to make of my placques now-copies/fakes or genuine?The faces are painted very well,maybe better than a copyist would do but the surrounding scenery a bit formulaic and stiffly painted? For what it's worth,the wood panel has genuine age and there's no evidence the ceramic panels have been recently inserted.
Any further thoughts greatly appreciated.

did you bid on it or buy now. Wood frames are the easiest to fake, your could be from the
30’ but by a different artist more research is needed to be sure. John
The wood panel means nothing. It’s a common practice for fakers to use those to decorate fake ones to fool people. The best way to confirm if it is genuine is to have a professional to do it. The quality of the fake Zhu Shan ones are very good nowadays due to the high profits.
to me, the painting style of the faces, foilage etc and colours of the wang qi christies panel, compared to yours , are very different

To me the painting style still looks convincing for the 1930s, even for 1928. The clothes are colorful but not garish, and the faces look in accordance with the time. I have items from the 1920 with similar colors. The scene looks lively, people not just standing around as they do on modern copies. The painting style is different from the real Wang Qi, that's evident. Maybe another contemporary painter used his signature to partake of his fame.

I have looked up google images for both wang qi and wangdafan and found very similar placques with same scene depicted at an auction in Toronto,Waddingtons ,lot 507,on June 14th ,2018.Attributed to Wang Dafan.Sorry, am new to the forum so I don't know how to include link.
Guess the best thing to do is send images to auction houses and see what comes back

to me that the best way to buy on eBay that way you can look to see if they sell garage sales
stuff or they sell antique of all kinds. But if they sell only Chinese’s stuff I back off because
they would not sell a high end piece for alow price. To me I agree with shingami on your piece

For a $12 fee, you can have a written appraisal from the Bidamount team. I have sent images to top auction houses, but I’ve found they’re really only interested if the piece is of higher value, over £5,000, but the Asian art departments may be more obliging? Also, they only give an auction estimate instead of market value, the two aren’t always the same.
Whoever you send pics to, I would imagine you’d need to
remove them from the frame and take photos of the back?
