Hi Keith,

Welcome to this forum community. We're looking forward to having you here and seeing more of your finds. However, I am unable to discern anything from those photos, as they become blurry when I try to zoom in. From what I can see, the covered rose medallion jar in the first photo looks late 20th c. to me, and so does the satsuma? style vase on the bottom shelf of the same photo. The covered Satsuma urn/vessel on the top shelf in the same photo looks mid-century to me, but again, I can't really tell from the photo.

Kind regards,

John

Hi Keith,

I'll preface that I'm not an expert in this area, but an enthusiast/collector. That was very fast - From that representative sample, the Chinese porcelain all look relatively modern to me.

I'll revise my opinion on the Japanese satsuma urn with the shi shi/foo lion finial below looks early 20th century Meiji/Taisho period to me. If you post the bottom, maybe we can find the mark if there is one. (Some do not have one because they had paper labels that came off over time).

50949 IMG3944

The satsuma-style vase in the box below is probably Chinese in origin and relatively modern.

50957 IMG3975

The last Japanese Satsuma-style vase below is likely Showa period, mid-century.

Kind regards,

John

The highlighted dish in the background looks pretty similair to the one recently discussed in this thread: Is this tongzhi period, Chinese Leprechaun? – Help Identify This – BidAmount Forum

Looks like a Republic period hat stand, though they do fake these so more pictures would be helpful.

Hi Philip,

I considered that the cylindrical vase maybe being Republic, but it looks much too low quality to me to be from that period. The inscription looks like it might be printed and the enamel work looks a bit "flat" to me.

Of course, that's an understandable concern, Keith. I am sticking to my opinion on those two pieces. I don't believe the egret vase is from the Daoguang period either.

The satsuma vase inscription is too faded to compare with known marks but the right column of characters read "Dai Nippon." Most likely Meiji period rather than Taisho now that I see that. This is the correct orientation:

I'll add that this is probably another Meiji period piece you have circled in blue. It's an akae-kutani bottle vase, I can take a look through my resources to find the mark for that one if you're curious. It's not as valuable though, being a small size and rather common.

Hi Keith,

You  may need to post more images. It's difficult with only one image.

Personally I would be wary of this one. It looks newish.

Hopefully other members can help you.
