Dear members
I hope to get some help identifying this donught shaped object. What would it purpose possibly be? A bird feeder, a tea bowl stand? 20 cm wide. To my amature eyes the glaze looks similar to earlier Chinese Celadon.

Thank you Todd. Someone told me it could be Chinese tea bowl warmer. I tried it out and it looks good.
Oh, wow. I completely misjudged the size (which you gave and I missed it 😋 ) Yes, you have it figured out, very cool. I’ve never seen one of those.

@watership Me nether. Does not look like much at first but it would take some skill to create this shape. Hopefully others will help clarifying it, I could not find anything similar online as a bowl stand/warmer.
@spartakos I dont think its chinese it looks more like western studio pottery . If asian my guess would be it a brush washer or a incense burner .
@webboy Thank you. The brush washing pot is a good guess, the shape matches apart from the whole in the middle, something i've not seen on other examples. Also the wholes, they are supposed to serve some practical purpose. Mystery...
My thoughts, a joss stick holder, inside filled with sand and the sticks places in the holes. I also think it is definitely one part of a larger whole, maybe an offering plate rising out of the middle.
To me Ron‘s explanation seems the best. Chinese tea cups are usually tiny and don’t have to be warmed, you just empty them in a few gulps.

Also, these are fun to make on a wheel. It's basically the precursor shape to making an "O" shaped jug before you close the donut, except you flare out the inner cylinder instead of joining the two walls. I wonder what the function of that flared-out inner cylinder is.
