The characters are Shou (壽) and Fu (福), although I think the Fu character is an older version. Looks like it has age to me.

I am so pleased you got it. I still really like it!
I don't know what others will think, but I don’t feel experienced enough to pronounce on this. It has a lot of things that look good to me, just one or two things that I am not sure of. I think the colours are OK for an early (ming/early qing) date but I hesitate because of the symbols (not noticed any before on old pieces but that may just be that I haven't seen them) and I am not certain when colours started to fade into one another in the same area. Those two factors could bring the date forward to 19th c sometime. Or of course, it could be a fake.
I would suggest asking Peter, the price is small for the advice he will give. Sorry I am so hesitant, but I am not an expert so don't want to say the wrong thing. 😊
Thank you for your additional images. It's chinese and not Japanese as I first thought. Which was based primarily on the shape and figures therein depicted etc.
Cloisonne is a difficult area to verify. I know from reading fellow members thoughts on this example that in their opinion it maybe Ming period.
It looks like enamel and not clay based. So this in my opinion suggests it's a later period. I think after viewing your additional pictures that it's possibly a 19th century example.
I would strongly suggest that you contact Peter and for the small sum obtain his opinion on your delightful vase. Perhaps also better and clearer images would be highly recommended.
Here is a blog (in part) by Sam Bernstein in San Francisco. He is a renowned dealer of jades etc.

Looks a little dirty … a gentle wash with warm water and dish soap should fix that.
I good light, you should find the turquoise blue enamel and gold gilt wire work will really shine.
The foot is gold gilt copper which is a very good sign for late Ming / early Qing cloisonné, but given the scrolling lotus leaves which is a bit more Qing in style, I think this could be as late as 18th c, but as others have suggested, let’s see if Peter can find a comparable vase.
This is a valuable piece, not mark and period, but the mythological animals elevate the design.
I sold a small Ming cloisonné vase on Ebay last year for $3500… yours is better.

I cleaned it very gently with dishwashing liquid and I took some photos, yesterday I checked hundreds of pieces, these ones are ming:

I don't know... maybe 19th century, but it could also be between the two eras, early qing, but I will send it to Peter today, and I will let you know what he said 🙂

ps.: I live in Hungary, and I only have pieces from the kangxi era and 19th century, because there were no imports to hungary before, and around 1720 the Meissen factory was opened, and from then on the Hungarians bought from there, and "we" started to buy from china again in the late 19th century

Put the piece against a black background and put a bright light in front, then take the photo!
A little reflection is no problem, but what your photos are missing is the beautiful glow of the turquoise blue and gold gilt.
