Finding what you want on Ebay in the Asian Antiques Category gets harder every day. Its a nightmare actually, at last check their are over 290,000 items in the category. Of those 290,000 less than 6% of them are actually antiques of any kind.
What you'll find on Ebay's Asian Antiques listings are: lots of brand new vases being sold by fakers in China by the thousands as well bronzes, bamboo, brand new printed scrolls made to look like paintings and much more. Its a sewer for the most part...
So, what to do....?
I'm an Ebay seller of over 17 years and an antique dealer for 35 years. Frankly I got sick of searching the site, looking at bad fakes one after another..spending hours and finding very little.
So we began devising searches and building a data base for Asian and other Sellers we like, who are honest and know what they are selling and say so.
Are all of the items that appear in our searches people we know? No, many are though and many are picked up by description filters as having a better likelihood of being accurate and selling better things. Once we check them out, we add them to our lists.
We exclude ALL sellers from China, sorry, but it's illegal to export real antiques from China. If you want to buy fakes email me, I'll give you a list of sellers who only handle them...
If you want to see REAL items we can help you.
So, here's how you find the GOOD stuff on EBAY!
First we set up a site, doesn't everyone?
So here's a link to the Bidamount.com home page. No other site like it exists, anywhere...
Now where to look..
Go to our home page, about midway down is a box linking a long list of the sellers we like displaying what they currently have on the site. if they are not currently selling anything their use name will not appear. The minute they start some listings, the strip will populate with their things.
If you have any suggestions on how we can make this better for you, just ask..really just ask. we're doing this for fun. or call me at (978) 283-3524
