It is a traditional type of pottery renowned among Tea Officianados and the optimal material with which to brew tea the world over. The Chinese have been using Yixing clay to make drinking vessels since the Song Dynasty. Never in its long history have these pots been out of favor among China's hundreds of millions of tea drinkers. It is the perfect surface with which to make tea, serious users only using ONE specific tea paired with specific pots, some collectors, as a result, own literally hundreds of pots.
