Asia Week New York March 2016, A Big Event in the Big Apple
This year's Asia Week New York March 2016 has grown since it's humble beginnings back in 2009 of just 16 Asian art galleries in the city's upper East Side, to a city wide event. This March's Asia Week showcases exhibits and auctions from the New York's biggest galleries and museums to institutions in both Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Covering an extraordinary range of interests from Chinese porcelain to modern photography to Indian and Himalayan art. There is truly something for everyone, from those seeking an interesting experience while learning something new, to objects for the most advanced and ardent collector.
All tallied last year's event realized over one third of a billion dollars in sales and millions of dollars for the city's local economy.
In the heart of the city is the Metropolitan Museum of Art who has stepped up to bat with EIGHT significant ongoing exhibitions worth attending, all of which will be running well past march 19th and into the early Summer and October. Also enjoying a milestone is New York's venerable and celebrated ASIA SOCIETY who are commemorating their 60th year with a showing of Scholar's Rocks from the Kemin Hu collection.
