Resplendent and Glorious "Ancient Temples Amidst Clouds"
A single lot auction of one of Zhang Daqian's (1899-1983) most famous masterworks formerly in the Mei Yao Tang Collection. (estimate on request) The painting, done in 1965, is widely acclaimed to be among his very finest efforts executed at the peak of the artist's career.

Adorning The Kings, A Private Collection of Archaic Ornaments
Lots 2701 to 2744. A superb collection of fine early jades including fine scabbards, sword pommels, pendents, numerous "Bi" disks, and plaques. Most dating from the "Warring States ( 481-403 BC) and Han (206 BC to 220 AD) to the Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD).
The Imperial Sale, Important Chinese Ceramics, and Works of Art
Lots 3001 to 3037. An exceptional little auction of 37 lots comprising objects from numerous Imperial reigns. Including fine celadons from the collection of Roger Belanich with examples from the Yuan, Hongwu, Yongle and mid-Ming period. Other ceramics will include fine examples of M&P ming blue and white, Kangxi Peachbloom, numerous other Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong porcelains, fine laquer, bronzes, jades and superb scholars seals. Also some very good Tang Sancai examples.
The Perfect Countenance, Fine Buddhist Works of Art
Lots 2801 to 2820. An elegant sale of 20 lots comprising a very good selection of bronzes from several collections including examples from the Tang to Imperial examples of the Ming Dynasty. Other offerings include a terrific Buddhist votive painting of the Ming dynasty. The last lot in the sale is an extremely rare blue and white inscribed Alms bowl dated to 1737. (it's fabulous)
The Yongzheng Emporer's Double-Dragon Amphora
Lot 2888. A well-done catalog offering a fine and rare spectacularly colored Amphora vase with dragon handles. The catalog is a very interesting read with numerous comparable examples and information about the origins of the form. (estimate on request)
