I got these for $50 bucks, and probably the best deal of my life so far for Chinoiserie given the size, beauty and value. Export art deco, but it goes incredibly well with my progressing wall. I don't see them pop up much at all aside from this lone post on 1st dibs for a 10k value which is high for the market average as usual.
So far Facebook is becoming my new favorite hunting ground ever since finding these for sale + a 1 hour drive.
I failed to get photos of the sunset hitting the hold leaf at the right angle yet, but it illuminates magnificently when it does hit which is just awesome

Plus I found a use for the older cups I posted a while back 😄

Yeah these were originally listed by the seller locally for 200 then dropped down to 50 by the time I came across them. They likely got them from an antique shop, but luckier that no one else decided to research them til I found them. They had it up for about 3 weeks or so from what they were saying when I acquired them. But the FMV should be in the range between $6~7k.
It's crazy with how many people in the tri-state region alone don't realize what they actually have. But some do and just want it absolutely gone for xyz reasons. Just yesterday I acquired a mid century Korean chest which isn't much in value, but from that listing the seller was also trying to move a Chippendale end table in great condition aside from some minor surface scratches on the top, similar era range for the same price as the end table. So I grabbed them both and hopped them into storage. Easily valued at $2K+ and not the worst things to ship given the size and weights.
Before that, I picked up another Korean Elmwood bandaji chest from either late 19th century or early 20th century in good condition for $30 + 2x James mont styled stools (good condition but both have amateur leg repairs visible from the underside) for another $60. All in all easily worth $5k together on the right market place.
Chinoiserie is definitely a wild west with hunting. Only down side is getting creative with storage.
