first of all, my name is jordy and I live in the the netherlands, because I am still a beginner I try to look around a lot and find the cheaper items. I once came across this bottle and I bought it for a few bucs. of course it is always handy to have objects as examples and let me just have my doubts whether there is a little age on this piece.
I personally think the painting looks bad. normally porcelain from this "" period "should look a lot nicer. totally not neat. so my gues would be it's not real, but what caught my attention is the large iron oxide spot under the head of the tiger. also it looks like the foot rim contains an iron oxide line, but should that be that orange collor? I just don't know if this can also be easily facked, when I rub over the glaze it feels bumpy.
I'd say come on with those opinions and help me learn. every comment is welcome 😀

you did not provide the size. Is it a snuff bottle or is it bigger?
It seems a snuff bottle. Anyway, small or bigger, it is a modern thing. The painting style is very naive.

the spot under the tiger’s head is a flaw it developed in the kiln.
Yes, an iron oxide line can be faked.
I think we all believe it is a good idea to buy all sorts of varying quality pieces in order to learn when we’re starting out, but many of the experienced guys would say this is not a sound tactic.
I personally now save every penny, let it build up and buy the best possible quality. It’s very easy to think “it’s just £10, just £40” etc, but after a while it all adds up to £500! You then realise you could’ve bought something REALLY nice for that amount.

I personally like the design of the many animals. It’s a modern vase or snuffbottle but not intended to deceive by copying something old as the design is pure fancy and was unknown in earlier times.
Nic is absolutely right, there’s nothing to be learned from fakes and modern items. But to be honest I might have bought this one too, just for fun.

I think that you are referring to porcelain ware in saying that this motif is not known. It is indeed well known on snuff bottles, representing the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac.

Thank you Giovanni, I didn’t know that. I just thought of it as a vase. If it’s a snuff bottle it’s a fake. Sorry, my mistake.

What giovanni said about the 12 animals is something I have learned from this piece, so in my opinion you could also learn from fake ones. this year it's the year of the rat. and ofcourse you always learn what not to buy, haha.
in my opinion it is to big for a snuff bottle. it measures 14 cm high. maybe winebottle?

At 14 cm it could be a table bottle, or master bottle as it is also called.
It is the main bottle from which the users are feeding their bottles.
Dear Jordy, may I ask you to kindly use the capital letters after the full stops? In lack of that, it is spontaneously arising, for the reader, the doubt that it could be a single sentence, forcing him to re-read again the text, to be sure. Quite boring.
