Hello,
I thought this might be of interest to some forum members. The pictures are blurry (unfortunately common on invaluable) but the design and bottom look reasonable to my inexperienced eyes as 18th C. The rest of the auction has a large amount export porcelain from China and Japan, some mounted/lamped vases that look authentic to my (novice) eyes as well. However, the estimates seem very low.

I hope Brigit sees this. I wonder what the significance of the figure on the bridge may be in this scenario. If this is not an out right fake, would the figure on the bridge indicate anything such as it is Canton and 19th century.
( I promise to read up better on Chinese blue and white and improve my academics, but these little quirks in the Artwork are so fascinating. )
Pictures are blurry and we do not have details, regardless there are high chances that it is authentic Qianlong basin.
Regards,
Giovanni
What do you think of those? I've never seen this ribbed shape before for export celadon ground vases and the glaze looks kind of new. I noticed they just removed their ''19th C.'' mention.

Hi Springmeier,
Those vases look relatively modern to me... A technical question, how do they maintain the white ground in the painted areas? I thought the glaze would be uniformly celadon in colour.
Thanks for the warning Stuart, I didn't mean to imply everything had age, but that I saw several blue and white and rose medallion plates and vases that seemed authentic 19C or 18C. Monochromes I find very hard to place.
One item (and whose estimated price and size might make it feasible to purchase and ship) that caught my eye and whose decoration seemed typical for the 18th (to me at least) was this iron red vase/lamp.
A 17TH CENTURY CHINESE IRON RED KANGXI VASE converted to a lamp. Vase 22 cm high.

Hi Will -
My apologises for any misunderstanding conveyed ...
I do not know what your experience/knowledge of pieces are, and did not mean to imply that all Chinese/Japanese objects in this sale are relatively modern - this is not the case - but only that, if you intended bidding, you should try to visit and see/handle or, at the very least, asked for much clear images and further details before deciding ...
