Excellent selection - What an auction; 1000+ lots! - I was surprised how strong the sales of 19/20th Century items were, especially in comparison to how conservative the prices on the older piece were... very interesting ?

Is it just me or did they let a Ming dynasty imperial treasure slip through their fingers. Lot 27:

The bottle at Rob Michiels Auctions certainly has the heaping and piling as well as the dense pits from broken bubbles in the cobalt blue, and it is also noteworthy how the base compares to some of the Ming examples dipicted on this site:

A number of the similar bottles in mueums/private collections also have their necks cut down.

I see what you mean, though without physically inspecting this vase, I'd be undecided one way or the other.
Some very good copies of early Ming blue and white were made c. 1900; also, Michiels have been in the business for some time, and are not without experience in handling the real thing. With that in mind, I'd be surprised if they had let a real early piece slip through, but then again, who knows, when such things can and sometimes do happen.

Thanks for the feedback. I just noticed there was another Xuande marked box in that sale which Peter talks about in the video he posted here. Lot 714:
That one is also dated 19th/20th century but Peter mention someone he knew who thought it was a period piece. But a very similar box can be seen in this thread at the asianart.com forum where the poster says it's a fake:

The poster also say: "Blue and heap and pile effect on xuande porcelain are very difficult to be duplicated precisely and still unsuccessful in all modern reproductions." But it is said elsewhere that the heap and pile is copied to perfection on modern fakes.
And then there is this quote from The Koh Antique site: "For imperial blue and white since Kangxi period, most continued to copy the floral scrolls motif of the much admired Yongle/Xuande period. The heap and pile effects which is natural on Ming pieces, is created by doting the required areas with higher content cobalt pigment. The heap and piles lack the randomness of the Ming pieces and does not sink into the biscuit and lack the metallic sheen found in the Ming pieces." But this is the Qing dynasty imperial Ming copies. I honestly don't know if "real" heap and pile is also found on the non-imperial antique or semi-antique copies. It's a topic I really would like to learn more about.

Just leaving a short note while researching online; an example of a bottle very similar to the one at Bonham's being passed as the real thing at Maucau CITIC spring auction for 31.79 million yuan:
