Hello, this bowl is for sale in a local shop, I like the decoration, but I do not want to overpay. This will potentially be my first porcelain purchase. I am guessing Meiji period, but totally unsure. Would appreciate any advice on age and fair value. Thank you!

Edo period imari bowl

Hi all,

I wanted to share this bowl thats coming in, I believe it is edo period. Am I correct? Its half the size of the christies example at 8in diameter and about 4 inches high.

A question about "imperial" canton enamel

Hello! Recently I have been trying to learn more about enamel and on the major auction sites I have come across pieces that have a "double squared" Iron red four character Qianlong mark of this type:

A PAINTED ENAMEL WATERPOT, QIANLONG IRON-RED FOUR-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE SQUARE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795) | Christie’s

If an enamel piece has this mark, and is of the period, does that mean it was made for the imperial household? Or was this mark more liberally used in enamelware?

Any insight is appreciated!
