Not that it necessarily does, but I am not sure what else to do.

That's scary! I had no idea.

By the way, the post office clerk told me that the sellers (the one who sent the item) needs to file an online case, then the form gets sent to me, then I have to go back to the post office to show a manager the box and item. 🙄 

No word on whether the seller will grant me a refund or not. If not, I'll take it to Ebay.

I'm awaiting a reply from the seller now.

Yes, thank goodness for Ebay. When this happened before the seller just refunded me the money and didn't ask me to go to the post office to file a claim but whatever. I'm happy to do so.

This usually happens when the porcelain is touching the walls of the cardboard box due to insufficient cushioning. Fortunately you are protected by ebay's buyer protection.

The item was wrapped in bubble wrap but resting on a rather thin cushion of shredded newspaper with crumpled paper on top. The box was rather small. It wasn't crushed, but must have been thrown about a bit by the mail carriers.
