(As always: apologies for a lengthier post - but meant to assist in offering a perspective).

First time browsing forum in a moment; but wanted to quickly log-on to echo what @greeno107 said for similar and (slightly) differing additional reasons.

I know it’s early on and the site will need to organically find its footing: but an inquiry based pricing mechanism would be beneficial due to the “nature” of some things regarding the double edge sword that is internet visibility & outreach for the market (and those within it).

There’s also those of us who sell in markets where prices vary upon specific client & destination; or just due to the current “gallery” climate of dealer networks who represent certain artists of highly collected or contemporary status - where visibly set prices can cause hesitancy to offer these publicly.
Conversely, these offerings can benefit platforms by attracting a wider demographic of both collectors & resellers (i.e. for me, I’d love to list a few Japanese Imperial Household artist that I don’t want circling on eBay; or a few National Living Treasures who I wouldn’t mind offering affordably to a passionate collector on a budget, and not get chewed out for “devaluing the market share” by another gallery).

I know market politics need to change; and I don’t like it any more than others who enjoy transparency/simplicity as a buyer - but things (for better or worse) are how they are for now, and with that comes an opportunity for all.

Of course, there would need to be a system of accountability for sellers to submit realized private price received to BidAmount (who I think we all agree deserves their rather modest share of commission) - yet I see this being a feature that could bring more traffic and variety to a promising new platform that I have nothing but praises for currently.

Just some thoughts..
-JRN

So I don’t know what to do because there is no way top know what it is wrong.

The only strange note is about the password. I have typed a password longer than 12 characters, with capital and lower letters, numbers and special characters, but it still say that it is a weak word. Is it perhaps because of that?

Another thing that I think not good is the fact that the name of the vendor do not appear in the listing, it must be inquired. Not everybody will do that. In my opinion it is important if the name of the vendor will be displayed in the main window of the object.

Is it possible to insert pictures with the watermark?

I've got no problem with paying a commission to Bidamount for the actual selling price, but has any consideration been given to listings being able to put 'upon request' as a price option?

On eBay, I can put a high asking price, but accept any reasonable offer, and to my knowledge, the actual price remains private.

Hello,

Outside of selling modern reproductions, you can what you wish as long as it is accurately described and dated in some reasonable fashion, i.e. "Qing Dynasty:, "19th C.", "Qianlong period", "Meiji Period" etc. We will not permit the sale of modern Copies for any reason as there are so many other sites available for those types of items. "Republic Period" examples MUST actually be Republic, and not modern examples being sold as Republic as they are generally very easily spotted and will be taken down.

The site is for Antiques and legitly described items.
