As a seller on eBay myself, I don’t often buy there, but I really liked the plate in this case. I’m sure the seller acted professionally and with their own reasons, though it might have been a miscommunication.

I appreciate the suggestion to contact eBay, and I will definitely look into it to ensure it doesn’t affect any future bids.

Best,
Oto

Thanks for your response! I’ve paid for all my items in the past and have never had any unpaid items, so the reason given doesn’t seem to apply in this case, which is why it’s a bit confusing. To add to that, the item is back up for sale, which makes it even more puzzling.

In any case, I won’t bother bidding again when I’ve been cancelled or rejected by a seller.

Thanks again for your thoughts—I’ll see if anyone else has more insights.

Best regards,
Oto

Dear Friends.

Today, ShangriLa-Antique Amsterdam cancelled my bids, citing a reason of "previous unpaid item." This was surprising, as I’ve never bought anything from them before. If the item wasn’t sold at the offered price, it raises the question of why my bids were cancelled.

I imagine other buyers or clients may have experienced something similar. In my last forum thread, I pointed out that some major auction houses have been editing pictures, and now it seems even trusted sellers are pulling out of sales. Peter, in his latest YouTube video, mentioned how eBay and auctions can sometimes be problematic. While I’m sure there’s a reason behind this, I just hope it’s not due to greed. Sorry for the Sunday morning news—just wanted to share my experience.

Kind regards
