I also like this dish. 

It's shell shape and depicts egrets. Looks very much late Taisho early Showa period to my eyes.

I wasn't sure if it was something cool or atrocious. The colors are rather different than most things I've been looking at, especially the darker areas. I thought it was interesting and it was a cheap purchase so I grabbed it.

I’d say its an antique or vintage Japanese, hand-painted shell dish, or shell-shaped plate. Very nice. Maybe someone can narrow down the age.
