Hi John,

I also think it's probably tongzhi period but with the damage and low quality I would pass unless you like it.

Hi John, it’s not Kitchen Qing but a typical Tongzhi or Guangxu dish of medium to low quality. I would pass it unless you really like it.

I have seen one or two dishes like this before and assumed this was maybe late 19th or early 20th C. work and maybe what they refer to as "kitchen Qing"? I am hoping to get some info from all of you as to what you think. Also, why is the surface of the dish so rough feeling? Is it something other than porcelain or just a lower grade of porcelain? Lastly, I could probably buy this for $10, so do you think I should? I think it's charming, but alas, there is the value and shelf space to consider Thanks in advance for your advice! John
