You will often see them on later attributes/copies but rarely on earlier period pieces.

Firstly welcome to this great forum!

Your lidded box is unfortunately a copy. Probably made in the later part of the 20th century.

The styling is very stiff and static. Always be careful with the gold paint. It should be actual gold gilt. Be wary when you see multiple felt pads.

It has decorative value only. Use it for holding nick nacks.

I bought this piece at an estate sale. It is 4.5 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches in height.

It has a faded Qianlong mark. I am wondering if it is real or fake, and what it may be worth?
