One reason, I think, is that light round area under the bird. Not sure if it was intentional or kiln magic, but my brain is seeing that as a sunrise. Makes the decoration seem integrated with the clay into one scene. The other vase's decoration looks more applied on top of the clay.

My first thought was that the bird looks Chinese so I tried to get an idea from the text and that came up us being Chinese. Can you get a better picture of the mark, please ?

I am not sure but can I see a date there? Geng zi : 1900, 1960 ? I may be wrong, of course.

I thought it might be Chinese from the placement of the writing. But am thinking Japanese now, from the incised decoration. It's done quite well. I like the bird. There is a mark on the bottom, but it's dim.  Meiji to Taisho? Thanks, Todd
