It’s not hand painted but stenciled and looks like it’s made for household use somewhere in Asia. I’m not sure if it’s from China. For 2 $ you surely got a nice decorative item for a good price.

I got this food jar last week for $2. It looked old but it also looks like it was mass produced. I found one just like it on eBay the seller says its an antique. Does something need to be at least 100 years old to be considered an antique? How old do you think this actually is? 10? 50? over 100 years old? here are some pictures as well as the link to the one on eBay.
