Japanese bronze baku and chinese jade lion
Hello need some help identifying these two objects.
The first is a japanese baku, but we would like to know which time it was made and how you would value it. The other is a chinese jade lion, is there any way to date jade, and also wondering if there is any value in it, seen many different prices on the Internet.
The foo dog has a stone color and internal structure that is seen in stones that are used to simulate jade. Like adventurine and others. This is worth about $20. Typically they come in pairs, so one is missing.
The Baku is small and doesnt have a lot of extremely fine detailing. Dating it exactly could be hard, but 19th or early half of 20th century is fine. I would estimate this to sell for $60 at local auction. It is a cute desk article for a scholar.
It is what it is!
